Object to the £1.9 billion M1 Widening Consultation

Please object to the futile £1.9 billion widening of the M1 from junction 21-30 here (http://m1eastmidlands.arup.com/questionnaire/questionnaire.php) on the Highways Agency website by 29 June.

This is the largest scheme in the government's road programme, and will generate huge amounts of traffic and CO2, and bring more noise and pollution to the residents of Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Chesterfield. If you want, you could add to the comments that in the Non-Technical Summary the CO2 impacts are understated. In fact they will be 688,302 tonnes a year extra, and that this will effect all of us, and future generations. Say also that you want to object to Contract 1 as well as Contract 2, as they are not consulting on this stretch.
